Dr. Klein, born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, attended Penn State University then received his Medical Degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He moved to Dayton for his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine, both at Grandview Hospital. Subsequently, he completed a two year Fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Klein returned to Dayton after completing his Fellowship training in 1983, and entered into private practice. He established the Division of Nephrology at Grandview Hospital and shortly thereafter he founded our group, Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. Dr. Klein served as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and was a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Grandview Hospital and was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Currently, he is the Medical Director for two dialysis facilities in the greater Dayton area, as well as serving as the President of Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc.
Dr. Oxman was born in Washington DC and grew up in New Jersey. Dr. Oxman attended Dickerson College in Pennsylvania and received his Medical Degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. In the mid 1980’s, he moved to Dayton for his Residency in Internal Medicine at Grandview Hospital, where he was the Chief Medical Resident. He returned to Pennsylvania for his Fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Dr. Oxman came back to Dayton after his Fellowship and joined Dr. Klein in private practice in 1990. Dr. Oxman has won the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has served on the Medical Executive Committee at both Grandview and Good Samaritan Hospitals. Currently servers as President of Staff, Good Samaritan Hospital, Premier Health Partners.
Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Doerr started her education with a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University. She then earned her PhD. from Ohio State University. She furthered her education and graduated with her Medical Degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. She completed her Internship, Residency, and Fellowship all here in Dayton at Grandview Hospital. Dr. Klein and Dr. Oxman welcomed Dr. Doerr to the practice in 1997.
Born in Cincinnati, and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Kaufhold graduated from the University of Dayton before earning his Medical Degree at the University of Cincinnati. He joined the Air Force to see the world, and spent 9 of his 11 years on Active Duty at Wright Patterson. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which was the highest ranked medical residency in the country at the time. Dr. Kaufhold completed his Nephrology Fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He returned to WPAFB In 1991, and provided award –winning care there until he joined Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. in 1997. He has received numerous awards for teaching and was named Master Faculty at Ohio University in 2010.
Dr Jackson grew up in Perry, a small town in northeastern Ohio. She graduated Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University in 1995 and went on to earn her Medical Degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Her Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship were both completed here in Dayton at Grandview Hospital. She has been a part of Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. since August of 2004.
Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Eze moved to the United States prior to college. He attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Eze earned his Medical Degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his Internship, Residency, and Fellowship at the Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans. In October of 2007 Dr. Eze began working here at Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. In addition to seeing his office patients, Dr. Eze also performs access procedures at the Greater Dayton Vascular Access Center.
Dr. Ammula was born and raised in India. He completed his undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery in Hyderabad, India before coming to the U.S. where he studied Public Health at Western Kentucky University. He completed his Residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City before completing his Fellowship at the Boston University Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Ammula became part of the Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. team in August of 2008. He practices general Nephrology . His special interests are Glomerulonephritis, Polycystic Kidney Disease, Myeloma and Peritoneal Dialysis.
Dr. Lovekar grew up and went to medical school in India. She moved to the United States in 2003. Dr. Lovekar completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital which is affiliated with the University of Massachusetts Worcester campus. She then went on to her Nephrology Fellowship at Boston University Medical Center in 2008. Dr. Lovekar has valuable experience as a hospital based Internist. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. She joined Nephrology Associates of Dayton, Inc. in December of 2012.
Shashikant Patel, M.D
Dr. Patel was born and raised in Gujarat, India where he completed his MBBS training at B.J.Medical College. He moved to the United States in 2005 to continue his medical career. In 2007, he relocated to the Dayton area and studied Internal Medicine at Wright State University from 2007 to 2010. Dr. Patel served as a Chief Resident for a year then worked as a hospitalist before starting his fellowship program. Dr. Patel honed his knowledge of Nephrology at Wexner Medical College at Ohio State University from 2012-2014. Upon completion of his fellowship, Nephrology Associates of Dayton welcomed Dr. Patel into our practice in July of 2014.
Dr. Colao worked diligently to make a positive difference in the lives of others. We’ll always remember his quick wit, ready smile, and true zest for life. He is greatly missed.
